Lately, there has been a lot of talk about the safety of bounce houses and other inflatable rentals, and we think it’s with good reason. Today I want to mention just one aspect of keeping a bounce house party safe. In the amazing Orange County summer we’re enjoying, an inflatable water slide is always a huge hit. There are many very safe options to rent a water slide but the one pictured is NOT one of them.
First, bounce house/waterslide combos can move around unpredictably while users are climbing to use the slide and cause kids to lose their footing. Just one kid sliding down the ramp may not be a big deal but several piling on each other is no good. Second, the vinyl surfaces in the bouncing area of the bounce house become extremely slippery when wet, almost to the point where they can’t even be used for jumping. For this reason, kids should always use dry bounce houses BEFORE wet ones, or dry off completely before entering a dry unit. Wet jumpers should NEVER be bounced on.
Keep these tips in mind when you’re planning your next party or going out to a community event and help keep kids safe!
